VTS Residents’ Days at Doghill Christmas and at Särkänniemi in the summer have become anticipated traditions that bring together thousands of participants year after year.

The idea for Residents’ Day was born from a desire to give residents a chance to pause in the midst of everyday life.

“We wanted to give our residents the opportunity to participate with the whole family, to meet neighbors and other residents. The summer Särkänniemi Day brings joy and experiences, while Doghill Christmas offers a chance to get into the Christmas spirit together,” says Kirsi Löövi, Marketing Planner at VTS.

Särkänniemi Day and Doghill Christmas offer many people the chance to enjoy and experience things that might not otherwise be accessible. Affordability in particular has received a lot of praise from participants. For many families, Residents’ Day is the highlight of the year and sometimes the only opportunity to visit an amusement park.

“This year marks the 14th time we are offering our residents the opportunity to take part in Särkänniemi Day. Doghill Christmas was added a few years later. These have become important traditions for us. The day is a success when you see many happy, smiling faces at the event,” Löövi continues.

The event arrangements have also received praise.

“The arrangements have worked well with Särkänniemi’s contact persons. The event days have been successful, and help has always been available when needed,” Löövi summarizes.

When an event brings together thousands of people, creates memories, and enables experiences for everyone regardless of their life situation, it becomes much more than just a single day visit –it’s about community and shared moments.
